Person in situation was the basic tenet of social work practice. Each person is composed of molecules, cell, and organs; each person is also a member of a family, community, culture, nation and world. The two dynamics interact each other to shape a person is what he/she is now. Social work practitioners need a cognitive framework to guide their practice in understanding and assessing human development in social environment.
Using a multi-dimensional framework (bio-psycho-social framework), this course will demonstrate how to assess social functioning of individuals and address the range of issues encounter in the practice of social work. This framework provides a holistic view of human behavior based on applied aspects of conceptual and theoretical materials.
